In loving memory of Mum; I know how frustrating your deteriorating eyesight was and it was so difficult to deal with because there was nothing more we could do to mitigate its effects once we’d bought you lighting and the reader to try to help you carry on reading The Times. Shame we couldn’t find something suitable to help you keep on winning at Scrabble, or anything to help you get the cooker hob to work every time for you. But I will always have bittersweet memories of our mutual frustration when you needed me to step in to help - it was my pleasure and privilege, not that I let on, lol.
